I was thinking about experimenting with opening my skin and body boutique?

I know how to make all these skin and body products from scratch (shower gels, lotions, body butter’s, milk bath’s, even perfume), my aunt is opening a boutique in Vegas, I’m in Orlando, but she says I should try it from home first like her and build up a clientele. What do you think? I mean I love this kind of stuff. I even work on the wkends in bath and body works because I love aromatherapy and things like that and I usually sell $500- $800 worth of merchandise on a slow day. I was thinking my stuff would be better because its all 100% natural, 100% vegan. What do you think?
I’m not thinking about opening a boutique like right now, I was thinking more along the lines of making couple of my products and passing them around at work and see what people think. See who comes back and ask for more. Then sell from my day job, I’m an Admin. Asst. in a very large firm over 2000 employees here at the office.

Elisabeth answers:

I think that is an excellent idea. Start with co-workers, friends, church members; give it to them as a gift. See who comes back for more then charge. That’s how you start. Even give them a questionairre and have them critique the pros and cons of the product. Also before you start try it on you first. I always feel we are our own worse critics (I know I am). Just start slow and let the word of mouth build.

How do you making the itching from shaving go away?

I don’t shave my thighs often, Because when I do it itches to the point I scratch myself til I bleed. Is there any way to stop the itch? I’ve tried lotion, it doesn’t work!

Elisabeth answers:

The itching goes away after a couple of weeks, but you have to keep shaving at least once a week.

Baby has eczema….how do I keep her from scratching?

My 16 month old daughter has eczema, it’s not that bad. I do use lots and lots of lotion (aveeno). The thing is that she makes it worse by scratching. It’s pretty hot where I live so I can’t have her in long sleeves and pants. How can I get her to stop scratching?

Elisabeth answers:

Aw poor little girl, my 8 month old has it pretty bad some days.
We have a prescribed steroid cream.
Other than that I just keep him moisturized ( Aquaphur ).
I rub him if he starts to scratch, his eyes roll back because it feels so nice.

Sandra asks…

how can i make a cut heal quickly?

its from my cat, but its really deep (for a cat scratch) and it looks really bad and i want it gone.
i dont have any neosporin.
i’ve been putting lotion on it and rubbing, because i know that it brings blood to the surface, so i was thinking that could make it heal quicker?

Elisabeth answers:

Neosporin works great for cuts..

How to stop my face from falling apart?

I have ridiculously dry skin, to the point that if I scratch it it starts bleeding. There’s certain areas that are worse. Around my mouth and on the bridge of my nose are the worst. I’ve tried every lotion. I have to constantly put things like aquaphor or vasaline on bad areas to keep it from being too bad (which makes it itchy, which makes me scratch it). But it doesnt help anything, it just stops it from hurting and being too dry. The second its all absorbed it’s dry and cracked again.

It’s really embarassing and painful. It hurts to put make up on it, but I do it anyway because without it I look gross. My face is seriously falling apart.

Does anyone know anyone else with this problem? And do you know anyway to make it stop?
My neck is the same way. Along with behind my ears.

Elisabeth answers:

This sounds like something you really should consult a dermatologist for. It sounds like some kind of skin condition rather than just dry skin. Good luck.

How can i make my fingers/hands/wrists less wrinkly?

Im in my late teens and my fingers/hands/wrists are so wrinkly from scratching/washing my hands too much. Ive been putting on Lurbriderm lotion for the past week, and although it has made my hands/wrists/fingers less dry, the wrinkles dont seem to go away. I mean if you were to look at my hands you’d think I’d be like 100 or something.

How can i make the wrinkles go away or even at least make them appear less wrinkly?
Any advice wud be great!!

Elisabeth answers:

Even if it’s a good lotion, you wouldn’t notice the difference immediately, so wait and see

Linda asks…

How to stop skin from peeling?

The skin on my forehead peels whenever i rub or scratch it or sometimes i wake up in the morning and its peeled. ive tried putting on lotion(specifically for skin repair) and face masks (mint julep) and although the rest of the skin on my face is fine, my forehead isn’t. anyone know how to make it stop or of any good cremes to put on it? ive also tried coco butter vaseline which didnt work.

Elisabeth answers:

See a dermatologist. I don’t think you are going to get a good answer on yahoo answers except for trying out more cremes that can’t help you. Skin condition on your face may in fact also be an indicator for some other internal problem. Looks like your case is one of those, and by trying to cure the symptom and not the cause you cannot solve it.

Ex., dark bags under your eyes mean the person has problems with kidneys, darkish triangle around the lips means the person has problems with his/her heart, overly red swollen blemish-spots can mean the person has problems either with hormones or liver.
So I think it is time for you to see a professional.

How do i get baby soft skin? (READ FULL DESC)?

i want something simple, easy, & doesnt require my to go to the store to buy extra products or that doesnt require me to make products from scratch. & please no links (unless you put them in the sources only.) my phone wont get them & some of them are either broken or unhelpful. thanks

& if this helps, im fair to beiged skined. my skin is dry and since i live in N. California, i make sure to put on sun block with reasonable SPF number whenever i go outside to avoid skin damage. (15 and up is the recommended right?) i also have some moisturizing lotions with vitamin e (some also have shea butter & jojoba) if this helps

Elisabeth answers:

The trick to baby soft skin is consistency. Make sure that after you wash your face or take a shower that you moisturize it with cooling lotion and sun-screen. Also, apply lotion after shaving your legs. Shea butter is wonderful for your skin.

Make sure to apply it ALL over. No area of your skin should be left untouched. Even the skin that no one can see like your torso. Also, if you can handle it, take cool showers. It’s better for your skin. Remember moisturize morning and night.

Do you think I should give it a shot?
If yes, why? If no, why?
I’m not thinking about opening a boutique like right now, I was thinking more along the lines of making couple of my products and passing them around at work and see what people think. Elisabeth answers:

I think yo should go for it. Just start small maybe give some to your co-workers to use as a gift. See who comes back for more. Do the same thing at your church or house of worship or even neighbors of you know them and your friends. Also give them like an anonymous questionairre with like 5 questions about your product on a 1-10 scale. Then see what is said.
